A New Year’s resolution I can keep…

Late last year, a friend of mine said that she was going to make a resolution to get a new job within the year. That struck me as a poor resolution, because she could not control whether or not someone actually hired her. I suggested that rather than making a resolution to get a new job, she should set some interim goals that she could control – updating her resume, posting to job sites, attending networking events, etc.

When it came time for me to make my resolution for the year, I decided to take my own advice. While I am not looking for a job, I began to realize that I had a pretty good network of friends that I had been neglecting of late. So, I set my goal – having lunch with 100 different people throughout the year.

As I have been working my way through this resolution, I have found that it created a lot of interest. This website is intended to describe my experiences and provide advice for others interested in making a similar resolution.

In future posts, I will list my rules, how I track the progress, and what I have learned from the experience. If you have any questions, please email me at scott@whatinspiresme.com.
Thanks for your interest!
